There is something very dramatic about desert views. With the blue patch of the Dead Sea in between the desert Judea mountains the views are amazing.
Many people come to the Dead Sea for it's therapic values - the water are so rich in minerals and salt. You can actually see the salt in big chunky pieces in the water.
The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth, some 400 m. below sea level. With 33.7% salinity, it is also one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. As you drive down hill between sands and mountains there are no signs of civilization. Then suddenly dozen hotels appear in the middle of no where. It's quite a site..
It's a good spot to explore the region with Masada the historic fortress about 15 minutes away and the desert oasis of Ein Gedi about 30 minutes away. However, do keep in mind that it gets very hot so the best time to visit is actually late fall or early spring.
