Israel is doing the dirty work for us all. While the Arab world cries out and the liberal left claims Israel is looking for war, the plain truth is that no one wants to see Chemical weapons in the hands of Hezbollah or Al Qaeda.
Syria is at war for 2 years - for 2 years the Assad regime has been slaughtering civilians in Syria while the world stands idle.
Syria today serves as the hub between Iran and Hezbollah - all weapon transfers go through Syria. Iran and Hezbollah do not want to see Assad fall and are actively helping out forces still loyal to him.The alleged Israel strikes and those that will likely follow aim to weaken Hezbollah and prevent Syria’s advanced weaponry, much of it made in Iran, from being transferred to the organization.
The chaos that has been the reality in Syria these past 2 years is the perfect hot bed for terror organizations. The rebel lines is filled with Al Qaeda forces and other radical organizations, mostly of Sunni Islamic association.
The Shi’ite axis of Hezbollah and Iran have suffered tremendously in the eyes of the Sunni world for its support of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Israel is clear about its red lines - it will not allow mass destruct ions weapons to reach the hands of terrorists in Hezbollah, or Al Qaeda linked rebels. Israel will not allow game changing weapons such as longer range missiles to reach the hands of these organizations as well.
President Obama has reiterated his stand in support of Israel and it's right to protect its citizens. Leaders of the free world fully justify the need to take care of these dangerous weapons before it's too late. However, Israel can do it's best to ensure dangerous weapons do not fall in the wrong hands but it cannot fix the situation in Syria on its own.
