Life is the summary of our decisions. As everyone in Israel, I've been a news junkie over the last few days, I'm on Twitter most of the day, following code red alerts on Israeli news sites and trying to get my head around the fast paced events.
Throughout this very tough day, 2 people died, 111 people were wounded, by rockets that didn't stop raining on southern cities and reached as far as Jerusalem and Rishon (south of Tel Aviv).
Throughout this tough day, talks of a possible cease fire were mixed with reports on casualties and never ending sirens.
Something in this picture is wrong. Before we talk about a cease fire we need to make progress and see Hamas' stop the rockets.
US' Secretary of State Clinton has just landed in Israel to advance the talks. Israel wants peace, have wanted peace since its inception. Question is do we have a partner for that? Can we trust Egypt and Turkey to rein in Hamas and keep it under control? Can we trust Egypt and Turkey to maintain Israel's security?
Israel values life, the lives of its citizens and the lives of innocent Palestinians. These priorities make this dilemma harder. So which way will Israel go? Everything is open and all options are on the table. But this stalemate cannot last forever.. something got to give.
One thing for sure, I don't envy PM Netanyahu this evening, he's got some tough decisions to make.
Keep safe where ever you are.. thanks for your support for Israel.
