Following a heated discussion, Israel's cabinet OKs a deal with Hezbollah to bring back the kidnapped soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, as well as more information on Ron Arad.
Israel will release Kontar, a brutal murderer that was convicted for a 1979 attack n which he shot and killed an Israeli man in front of his 4-year-old daughter before smashing her head against a rock and tossing her into the sea.
Under the deal, which the Cabinet approved 22-3 on Sunday, Hezbollah will also release information about Ron Arad, an Israeli navigator who has been missing since he was forced to eject from his plane over Lebanon in October 1986.
We don't know if Goldwasser and Regev are alive - no proof of life was given by Hezbollah and a medical report suggest that most likely they have not survived the kidnapping attack. And yet by giving the green light to this deal Israel proves its outstanding commitment to its soldiers where ever they are.
